This section of the website will contain the outcome of the National Research Initiative undertaken by the James R. Johnston Chair relating to Black community archives across Canada. This research has been commissioned by Library and Archives Canada. (February 2005-September 2005). The James R. Johnston Chair in Black Canadian Studies and Library and Archives Canada (Multicultural Initiatives and Social Archives Section), contracted to undertake a bold initiative relating to the identification and exploration of Black community archives held at a national, provincial and more local level throughout Canada. The report is currently with Libarary & Archives Canada for review and finalization. The intent is to make the agreed content widely available.
